What is a Astrology? What is Astrology?
What is Astrology?
The question may seem elementary, but even among those who
have a familiarity with the characteristics of sun signs, there may have
limited understanding of the basic principles of astrology. A state of mind
that prevails with regard astrology guess it is somewhat similar to other
psychic disciplines, and it inevitably ends up being placed in the same
category as clairvoyance, tarot reading, psychometry , prophecy, spirit
channeling, talking to the dead, etc.. The truth is that astrology is very
different from all these disciplines. Among the psychological sciences, it is
in a class by itself. _- Astrology
In this paper, with the help of graphic media, I will try to
give an overview of astrology at its most basic. This information will form the
basis for the laity, students and amateurs who wish to deepen their
understanding of this study, which in ancient times was considered the "king
of science." - Astrology
Astrology is based on the relationship of all the stellar
bodies to the earth. It is primarily concerned with all the bodies in our solar
system, including planets, the sun, the moon, asteroids and comets. Stellar
bodies outside our solar system, ie, the fixed stars and constellations, are
also important, but only insofar as they serve as a backdrop for movements
within our orbit. The diagram below is a representation of the solar system
showing the relative paths of the planets orbiting around the sun. - Astrology
As can be seen, the relative shape of our solar system is
flat or disc-shaped. In addition, all the planets revolve around the sun in the
same direction, that is, from left to right as they pass the sun, and from
right to left as they go behind it. This is consistent with the formation of
all solar systems, astronomers theorize, first start as global clouds of gas
and particles. These gases and particles gather slowly through the
gravitational force, the formation of a vortex rotating mass. As momentum gains
mass, it flattens slowly shaped disk. An enormous sphere of material forms the
center of this huge production giant disk gravitational weight. Nuclear
reaction product, and the sun gets up. In the meantime, the centers form
aggregate within the disc periphery swirling. Over a period of time, they
become planets and moons. - Astrology
If one were to take a position on top of our solar system,
that is, a view looking north poles of all the planets, the view would be
something like that shown in
This view is similar to what the astrologer sees when he or
she sees an astrological chart. As indicated, the heavens are divided into
twelve equal parts (30 degrees each) that we call the zodiac. Throughout
history, these sections or segments in the night sky are now associated with
different meanings or different areas of life. When the constellation of Aries
is predominant in the sky, for example, it became known as a time to plant
crops, make a new start, or to settle accounts with an enemy. When the
constellation Libra dominates the night sky, it was recognized that the period
of the year for marriage, partnerships and social gatherings. Signs and major
constellations contained in each of them, which has been associated with
different times of the year. - Astrology
Fig. 2 above shows a view of the solar system is known as
heliocentric, or sun-centered. A chart based on this view (the sun at the
center) is useful for determining the form of demonstrations around the world
or universal. For personal horoscopes, however, a different view of the solar
system is appropriate. This view, know that geocentric (Earth-centered) is
shown in
In a geocentric view of the solar system, astrologers make
the change to place the Earth at the center of the solar system. This
modification is based on the understanding that if a person, event or thing
must be analyzed through astrology, this entity should be placed at the center
of the universe. This idea runs counter to scientific thought, and, in essence,
is the separation between the modern astronomy and astrology. Astronomers can
not accept the earth as the center of the solar system and so reject astrology
as nonsense. Astrologers, of course, do not really believe that the earth is
the center of the solar system, but only to place for graphical analysis. Hypothetically
speaking, if you wanted to draw a card for a creature that lived on Mars, then
Mars would be appointed at the center of the solar system. - Astrology
it is easy to see that the center or focal
point of personal horoscopes is a constantly changing place, because the earth
is constantly moving around the sun. This adjustment, always place the earth at
the center, is made by astrologers launching a personal horoscope. Note also
that, in the passage from the perspective heliocentric (sun at the center) to
the geocentric view (earth-centered), some of the planets change their positions
zodiac sign. Heliocentric point of view (Fig. 2 above), for example, Saturn is
in Aries and Mercury is in Taurus. In the transition to the geocentric view (fig.
3), these two planets are in the sign of Pisces. In addition, the geocentric
view, the sun is considered a planet and takes a position zodiac sign, just
like the other planets. Thus, in Fig. 3 above, the sun appears to be in the
sign of Aquarius. This is what is meant by "sun sign" the sentence or
by statements such as "the Sun is in Aquarius. In all such cases, the
speaker refers to the geocentric point of view universally used in personal
horoscopes. - Astrology
